DRS's ZA-5000 Airborne Very High Frequency (VHF) Direction Finding (DF)
Blade Antenna is designed for use in airborne DF antenna arrays, covering the
20 to 500 megahertz frequency band. A complete VHF DF antenna array
comprises between six and nine ZA-5000 antennas arranged in an asymmetrical
array located on the aircraft underside.
A single ZA-5000 antenna may also be used for omnidirectional reception of
communication signals for monitoring, recording and analysis purposes.
The rugged design of the ZA-5000 antenna is suited for operation in subsonic
airborne applications, while providing the high degree of amplitude and phase
stability required for use in interferometric DF antenna arrays.
An array of ZA-5000 DF antennas can be used with any of DRS's range of
high performance wideband Very High Frequency (VHF/UHF) intercept and DF
systems, to provide high accuracy, high sensitivity DF measurements.
